OBITUARY - MR DAVID H MANSON MBE - 24 MARCH 1947 TO 9 MAY 2010

David H Manson MBE, who has died aged 63, was a highly respected Consultant. David joined the firm in August 1965 and qualified in 1972. He soon rose through the ranks to become an Associate in 1975 and became both Partner and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors in 1980.
He continued to work as a Partner until he retired in April 2007 when he became a Consultant. During these years he was awarded an MBE in December 1999 for Services to Surveying in the Construction Industry Sector. David was involved with the Trades House of Glasgow becoming a member of the Incorporation of Hammermen of Glasgow and eventually serving as Deacon in 2005.
Unfortunately, David was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in 2008 and was supported throughout his illness by his wife Lesley and children Richard, Pamela and Judith.
David led a very full life and will be missed by all his colleagues who knew him over the many years of his association with Doig & Smith.
