Business Manager Vacancy

An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen for an accomplished and highly motivated Manager, with a proven track record, to work in our HQ in Glasgow. Replacing the present incumbent, who is retiring, they will be required to support the Growth Strategy for Doig + Smith.

The person undertaking this key role will report directly to the Doig + Smith Board and will work day-to-day supporting the Business Management Director. The candidate must be conscientious, provide solid leadership and have a sound knowledge of business management, finance, planning, IT, HR etc

The Role

A key, multi-faceted role with the primary function to make it possible for all employees and Directors to function effectively and efficiently. Responsibility includes managing all aspects of the administration of the company, reporting directly to the Board of Directors.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Financial Resource Management- responsible for the development and management of the accounting function
  • Preparation and revisions of budgets
  • Monitor Cashflow, perform credit control function, cost management; reviewing and analysing costs, liaise with Bankers
  • HR management and administration – recruitment, performance management, maintaining HR records, liaise with HR specialists when necessary
  • Administration Management; assign and monitor clerical, administrative and secretarial responsibilities
  • Monitor procedures for record keeping
  • Ensure security, integrity and confidentiality of data
  • Design and implement office policies and procedures and oversee adherence to same
  • Analyse and monitor internal processes
  • Implement procedural and policy changes to improve operational efficiency throughout the company
  • Ensure compliance to all standards and maintain accreditations
  • Management and strategic planning of IT systems; hardware, software etc
  • Facility and Property Management
  • Supplier relationship management
  • Health + Safety support; conduct internal audits etc

This is a fulltime (36.25 hour week) permanent Contract with an attractive Salary and benefits package being offered, dependent upon experience.

The preferred candidate should possess experience in all aspects of the role however consideration will be given to those who only match some of the key aspects. Financial management experience is however a necessity for this position.
