Project Description

Plot 5 is a new build development on a vacant Plot on the Clyde Gateway East development which is located in the East end of Glasgow.

The project comprises the Design and Construction of a bespoke 12,862ft² of office/warehouse accommodation for BT for a new Technical Engineering Centre (TEC), together with all drainage, site servicing and external works including but not limited to, site access, on plot access road, car parking, external hardstanding areas, external lock-ups, storage and waste areas, vehicle wash-bay, footpaths, fencing and soft landscaping.

The building is steel framed with composite clad external walls with facing brick to cill height at office elevations.The external walls are punctuated by entrance/exit doors, an electrically operated overhead goods door and ppc aluminium windows.

Internally the offices and warehouse have been fitted out to meet the requirements of BT’s brief.

Our Role / Scope

Our role in the project is to provide Employer’s Agent services from Pre-Contract Stage through to Completion.

Pre-contract – Our role involved managing the design team in the process of progressing the design through the Planning and Building Warrant applications to meet the programme requirements, liaising with the tenant and their advisor regarding their required brief, preparing tender documents and negotiating the contract amount for the Works with the Main Contractor.

Post-contract – Weekly site visits to review progress, chairing monthly progress meetings, managing a change control process including agreeing costs with the contractor prior to issuing any variations to the contract and certifying payments to the contractor. Provision of principle interface between the Main Contractor and the Tenant.
