Marcella Cooney

Marcella has been with D+S, for nine years including two during which she was a student Quantity Surveyor, pursuing a full-time degree at Edinburgh Napier University.

Throughout her career, Marcella has been involved in numerous large-scale and intricate projects, as well as multiple smaller projects facilitated through various frameworks such as the City of Edinburgh Council and RBS (Royal Bank of Scotland).

Marcella has a wealth of experience in education, including the simultaneous delivery of Frogston Primary School, Canaan Lane Primary School, and Victoria Primary School for the City of Edinburgh Council, collectively valued at £45 million. She also successfully oversaw the simultaneous completion of Cedarbank & Pinewood Additional Support Needs Schools, worth a combined £13 million, in collaboration with Hub South East and West Lothian Council. In addition, Marcella played vital roles in securing an agreement for the £14 million contract sum for Beatlie Additional Support Needs School on behalf of Hub South East and West Lothian Council, and in establishing agreement of £3 million contract sum for the City of Edinburgh Council’s pioneering Passivhaus certified school, Sciennes Primary School.

Marcella is currently seconded to the Project Team at Edinburgh Airport, working on a diverse range of projects including the extension of existing taxiways, the expansion of high-value retail stores, implementation of IT projects, and various asset management initiatives.
