Gordon is the Director responsible for business management based in our Glasgow office.

Gordon has delivered significant projects including the £350million RBS World Headquarters at Gogarburn, Edinburgh. He has also delivered a wide variety of significant Framework projects including several projects at Heathrow and Gatwick Airports.

He has experience in a vast array of sectors including education, retail, historic, residential, infrastructure and aviation.

Fraser McQuarrie

Fraser is the Director responsible for Doig+Smith’s Project Management Division.

Fraser shows great leadership qualities, as well as working productively within a team environment. He has strong experience of leading teams on challenging, large and complex projects. Fraser enjoys working collaboratively with clients to develop long-term relationships which deliver excellent outcomes.

With over 20 years’ experience in Project Management, Fraser has successfully delivered projects in a wide variety of sectors such as health, education, retail and commercial for both public and private sector clients including O2, Allied London, National Australia Bank, North Lanarkshire Council, Stirling Council and NHS Lothian and Grampian.

Fraser has held positions of responsibility throughout his career including Service Location Champion (NAB) at EC Harris, Head of Health (Scotland) at Davis Langdon and Regional Manager (Property) at Mott MacDonald. Fraser is a Chartered Project Manager (MRICS) and also successfully achieved an MSc in Construction / Project Management. He has developed Doig+Smith’s Project Management Best Practice in partnership with Glasgow Caledonian University.

Ian Jamieson

Ian is the Director responsible for the Edinburgh and Aberdeen offices.

Ian has tremendous experience across sectors, having been involved in a number of major frameworks including education, retail, prisons and councils He has a particular expertise on working on listed buildings, having worked on high profile projects such as £40million Marischal College and the £10million Assembly Rooms, leading to becoming an Affiliate Member of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation. Ian also gained an LLM in Construction Law from the University of Strathclyde. By combining this with over 30 years of experience in the wider construction industry, he specialises in sharing knowledge across sectors and disciplines to the benefit of his clients.

Cullum joined Doig+Smith to head up Project Management in London. He has over fifteen years’ experience in the built environment including roles as a Civil Engineer, Construction Manager and Project Manager. Having already achieved an MBA from the University of Strathclyde Business School, and currently studying towards his CIMA qualification, David is certainly equipped with the skills to tackle the demanding and dynamic role of Business Manger within our growing organisation.

David is charged with leading and developing the administration, finance and HR functions of our business, and has additional responsibility for managing internal and external resources, IT Management Systems, H&S, QA and environmental management.

Dean Carrick

Dean is one of our Associates in our Edinburgh office’s QS division.

Dean takes an active and collaborative leadership role both internally and externally, priding himself on getting the best out his colleagues and external project team members alike.

He has been involved in a number of large, complex projects along with successful framework management of multiple lower value projects.

During his 13 years of experience he has worked for private and public clients alike; clients such as RBS, Gatwick Airport, Edinburgh Airport, Kilmartin property group, Perth & Kinross Council, City of Edinburgh Council, and National Museums of Scotland.

Dean is a Professional Member of the RICS, an APC Assessor (on behalf of RICS), and is fanatical about developing our younger staff. He acts as Supervisor/Counsellor to a number of our charter candidates.

Dean has a Masters qualification in Quantity Surveying (M&E), and is currently undertaking a Professional Doctorate in his own time. His research is in regards improvement of building services through collaborative procurement… It is fortunate he is passionate about his work!

Debi Stark

Debi recently joined Doig+Smith as a Senior Building Surveyor with over 15 years post qualification experience that includes working both in the private sector and for Local Authorities which has given her the opportunity of working for Clients and as a Client representative, that gives her a unique perspective when working with Clients and Project Teams.

Debi specialises in traditional Building Surveying services such as Schedules of Condition, Dilapidations, Defect Diagnosis, Building Conditions Surveys as well as Contract Administration, developing projects with Clients from their inception through to completion, working on all aspects of the design, Statutory Consents, selection and appointment of contractors, working independently and within a team environment depending on the size and scale of the project. She has good experience working on a variety of property types including Listed Properties through to modern and contemporary properties. Debi also has experience undertaking the role of Project Manager and has delivered a RIBA shortlist project as well as being involved in high profile building projects.

Debi has excellent communication and reporting skills and has the ability to work well both independently and within the team role or as a team leader. With experience in working across most sectors including Education, Commercial, Private and Retail for both public and private clients always to a high standard.
