Our Role / Scope
Our team, led by Ian Bowd, fulfilled the role of quantity surveyor for the project from inception through to Financial Close and was fully accountable to hub South West for all cost related items and were fully visible to the entire project team including hub, North Ayrshire Council, the Tier 1 Contractor, the Technical Advisor and SFT.
During Stage 1 we worked closely with the Tier 1 Contractor and the Participant to develop a detailed cost plan to reflect the emerging requirements. At this time it became clear that the affordability cap would be a challenge and a series of workshops were undertaken to value engineer elements of the design and to also agree an increase in the affordability cap. As the project progressed through Stage 2 and market testing we undertook a strict process of change control to track the developing design and identify any changes to the affordability cap.
Ian and Lauren successfully challenged in excess of £3m of Prime Costs during agreement of the Final Prime Cost.
