Quantity Surveyor
Nigel is a Quantity Surveyor at Doig+Smith, currently integrated into the operations team for our Gatwick Airport client. With over seven years of experience specialising in the transport and infrastructure sectors, he brings a highly analytical approach to cost estimating, commercial management and quantitative risk analysis.
Nigel has a proven track record of supporting major UK programmes and high-profile public sector clients. His portfolio includes work on HS2 Phase 1, East West Rail and Thames Water’s London Water Recycling Programme. He has also delivered extensive risk management and cost consultant services for transport clients such as Network Rail, National Highways and Northern Ireland Railway as well as managing complex airport masterplans for London Heathrow, Glasgow, Jersey and Athens.
With a strong passion towards digital and data, Nigel is a frequent user of Python, PowerQuery and Power BI to develop bespoke data models and interactive dashboards that provide granular insights and automation in project delivery. He is also a Member of the Controls & Skills Authority (MCaSA) and holds an NEC4 ECC Project Manager Accreditation, ensuring all project delivery is aligned with industry standards and robust contract administration.
