Project Description
This is a new housing development situated within the Bonnyrigg area with the site hidden within an existing housing development.
The works were to provide additional affordable houses for the local authorities housing stock. 20 new residential units were provided which included a mix of detached, semi-detached and flatted properties. The properties were all designed to high energy performing standards.
The works included construction of 20 fully fitted out residential timber framed units. Each property has photovoltaics installed on it roof, air source heat pumps installed and high-performance windows and doors. Included as part of the development was all ground and infrastructure works, roads and landscaping. In addition to meet ecology requirements both bats and bird boxes were required to be installed.
Our Role / Scope
Doig+Smith were appointed following request from Midlothian Council to assist the delivery of the Post Contract element of the works.
Working closely with the Midlothian Council Employers Agent Doig+Smith provided monthly valuation assessments, Change Control and Cost Reports on the works.
Swift agreement on the Final Account was achieved with the Contractor through the pro-active variation assessments and agreement during the contract.
