Project Description
The VIP Lounge at Lochranza is a new build facility for the Isle of Arran Distillery to provide a high quality destination space for current and future investors as well as accommodating specialist tours. The project blends a traditional exterior, in keeping with the existing buildings, with a contemporary interior designed to host VIP visitors, investors and members of the White Stag club. The interior comprises a bespoke bar and lounge area with adjoining meeting area. A key feature is the structural glazed oculus suspended above the bar giving a view to the blending room located on the upper floor where small groups of customers can take a masterclass in blending and distilling from the Master Distiller. The works were negotiated with the main contractor and D+S reviewed the various sub-contractor package returns to validate the content and ultimately agree the contract sum.

Benefits To Client
Robust scrutiny of the work package returns yielded a reduction in the contract sum of circa £60,000. A further saving of approximately £25,000 was achieved through value engineering of the Internal Fit-Out without compromising the quality of the finished product.
