Project Description
Wavegarden Scotland provides a world class inland surfing lagoon facility, within Craigpark Quarry in Ratho, Edinburgh. This enables surfers of all levels, both beginners and experienced, to surf in a controlled environment using Wavegarden’s wave generation technology. The development of the surrounding country park will also provide local greenspace for the surrounding community.
The works include the surfing lagoon and cove, Wavegarden installation, car park and access, site wide infrastructure, site wide landscaping, and country park works. A HUB area provides additional facilities including surf shop, café/restaurant/food market, changing areas, event space and surf school. Accommodation pods and luxury lodges are also provided.
Our Role / Scope
Our role in the project was to provide Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Principal Designer and NEC Supervisor services from inception through tender and construction to completion. Completion was achieved on 1st November 2024 to significant acclaim.
The scheme was developed to a highly challenging engineering standard. No materials were removed from site.
The project has gone on to win significant recognition and acclaim including several design awards.
The development now provides a first class surf resort at Ratho on the edge of Edinburgh.
