We’ve joined the exclusive Platinum Club!

Investors in People is a standard of excellence and is a sign that both employers and employees operate at the very highest level.


iip_plat_solid_19With this in mind it is therefore with great pride that Doig+Smith can announce, in this its 80th year, that it has just been awarded Investors in People Platinum; only 1 of 9 companies in the country. In the same year we also achieved an upgraded accreditation in Investors in Young People to GOLD. We are therefore part of an exclusive “club” of only 3 companies in the UK to have both accreditations at the highest level.

How did we do it? D+S wanted to differentiate themselves from other organisations and be considered a high performing organisation and to do this it was realised that our focussed ” people strategy” should be expanded. Therefore, since late 2014 there have been various initiatives and an ethos of total reward management introduced to complement the already first class training provided. We worked very hard to follow the IIP framework and Robin Sinclair, IIP assessor, worked closely with us to provide invaluable advice and insight.

The Platinum standard signifies excellence, an outperforming place to work, commitment to achievement, constant personal development and an outstanding employer. Some of Robin’s feedback to us highlighted this:

Doig+Smith are extremely proud of this achievement and particularly of its people. A commitment was made at the annual Staff Away Day in June 2016 that we were applying for IIP accreditation and therefore introduced further innovations which our fantastic employees could enjoy.
